What we watch

Five Signals Tracked Constantly.

Hiring

What it proves

Budget is approved and the problem has a name. A company staffing an ERP rollout, or paying a salary for data entry, has told you exactly what it is about to spend on.

Where it comes from

GreenhouseLeverAshbyWorkdaySmartRecruitersCompany careers pages
Half-life21 days

Engineering and operations roles fill in weeks, so the window is short.

The trap we filter

The title alone cannot tell a buyer from a non-buyer. A software engineer at a software company is building their own product and will never outsource it. We read the shape of the whole job board, not one post.

Tenders

What it proves

The strongest public evidence there is: the requirement in writing, a deadline, and usually a named officer to contact.

Where it comes from

SAM.govEU TEDState and city portalsUtilities and transit authorities
Half-life14 days

Paced by the published response deadline.

The trap we filter

Most active notices are award notices, which means the work is already given away. Sole source and intent to award notices look open and are not. We drop all three before anything reaches you.

Funding and new execs

What it proves

A fresh round or a new operations leader changes who the company buys from. A new executive wants a win in their first quarter.

Where it comes from

Funding announcementsCompany registriesExecutive movesPress releases
Half-life90 days

Funding fades over about six weeks, a new executive over about three months.

The trap we filter

On its own this is a weak signal. A funded company with a large engineering team builds in house. We weight it low unless it stacks with something stronger.

Live requests

What it proves

A buyer has written the brief themselves, often with a budget and a deadline. Nothing is inferred.

Half-life4 days

Briefs are won or lost within a week.

The trap we filter

Most posts on hiring boards are sellers advertising themselves, which makes them your competitors, not your buyers. On one live pull, 22 of 25 were. We keep only posts that ask to hire.

Directories and registries

What it proves

In some markets, being in the segment is enough. An auction house with thousands of lots has a catalogue problem whether or not it posts a job.

Half-life180 days

Slow to age, because membership does not expire.

The trap we filter

Directory searches return the neighbouring trade too. A search for rug dealers brings back flooring shops and carpet cleaners, which have no catalogue at all. We filter on the business, not the category it was filed under.

Every source we can build

The five above are the core. If the evidence is published somewhere, we can usually harvest it.

Questions

The ones that actually get asked.

How is this different from Apollo or ZoomInfo?

Those tools sell the same static records to everyone, filtered by size and industry. We watch for events that prove a company needs something now, and we build sources for markets those databases cover badly, like family-run firms or local practices.

Can you build a source for my specific market?

Usually, yes. If the evidence that a company needs you is published anywhere, from a job board to a government register to a trade directory, we can harvest it. The free audit is where we check what exists for your niche.

Do you also contact the leads?

Signal works on its own, delivered to your team. Most clients pair it with Kairo Outbound so each message can reference the signal that triggered it.

Who owns the data?

You do. Everything we deliver is yours to keep, whether or not you continue.
